Laura graduated from the University of Reading with a BSc in Rural Resource Management, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of agricultural systems and sustainable land use practices. Since graduation, she has accumulated substantial commercial experience across multiple sectors of the agricultural industry.
As an ex-Ludlow Young Farmer, Laura's connection to agriculture was established early, fostering her passion for the sector and developing her understanding of the farming community. She began her professional career in the fresh produce sector, where she gained valuable experience across marketing, sales, and customer-facing roles. This commercial foundation equipped her with essential skills in relationship building and understanding market dynamics within the agricultural supply chain.
Laura subsequently transitioned into agricultural recruitment, where she spent three years developing her expertise in matching talent with opportunities across the sector. This experience has given her deep insights into the recruitment challenges facing agricultural businesses and the career aspirations of professionals within the industry.
Currently living on a dairy and beef farm, Laura remains actively involved in the practical side of farming alongside her position with the Cultura Connect team. This hands-on experience ensures she maintains current knowledge of farming operations and the day-to-day realities facing agricultural businesses.
Laura's combination of academic background, commercial experience, recruitment expertise, and ongoing practical farming involvement makes her a valuable asset to the Cultura Connect team. Her ability to understand both the business and operational sides of agriculture enables her to effectively bridge the gap between candidates and clients.
Outside the office, Laura takes care of her young daughter, Olivia, and gets out on the farm when she can.
